Mentoring Program Overview

For OMV, gender equality is more than nice words in reports. Our mentoring program is one of the activities to close the gender gap, designed to support and guide women in OMV, helping them navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and reach their full potential. In this program, we are focusing on the experienced women in OMV who are new to leadership roles or who are ready to take their career to the next level.In addition to the SheSkillz Global mentors, we would recommend you to find an OMV internal mentor / sponsor that can support you long-term within OMV. The mission behind the program

The ‘broken rung’ is the obstacle, not the glass ceiling.

OMV aims to build on SheSkillz Global’s success and proven concept, making it a game-changer for women in their company. McKinsey report (2023) states that “Women are more ambitious than before the pandemic,” and we are confident this applies to women in OMV as well. Together, we believe in fostering an environment where ambition is nurtured and opportunities for women are expanded. This program is one of the initiatives in OMV, to “step by step,” achieve the goal of 30% women in senior leadership positions.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE MENTORING PROGRAM

Each mentee will participate in at least four mentoring sessions with their assigned mentor(s). The mentees will also attend OMV tailored webinars and gain access to SheSkillz Global’s open webinars. Mentors will also be invited to webinars. Mentees will collaborate with peers on dynamic topics in task groups, culminating in a final presentation delivered to top leaders at OMV and mentors.

Additionally, mentees and mentors will have access to a comprehensive toolbox filled with resources to support their career development and daily work. They will meet inspiring female role models, learn from others' experiences, engage with competent speakers, expand their professional networks, and much more.

Apply and Express Your Interest

MENTEES: You have read the information letter and signed the mentoring agreement (SET IN THE LINK), meet the criteria, and are accepted for the final round. When registering, remember to click on »mentee« and the “OMV Mentoring Program”. You will then be accepted by the administrative team in the next 24 hours and can continue. When setting up your profile, the more details you include, the better we can get to know you.

MENTORS: Interested? Fantastic! Share your interest in becoming a mentor by sending a short email along with your CV to Selma.Berbic@omv.com If you do not work for OMV send the same information, but then to info@sheskillzglobal.com. Don't forget to tell us why mentoring matters to you, and be sure to review the mentoring agreement.

Selection process for Mentees and Mentors/Sponsors

MENTEES: After completing your profile. Once selected, the matching process with the mentors can start. See section on start the program.  

MENTORS: Start filling out your profile, and it’s important that you give good information about why you want to be a mentor. When choosing between the different mentoring topics/areas, Please also provide some information on your experiences/competence so it's easy for the mentee to get to know you. You can also add your CV or link to LinkedIn.

Start the program

The program starts by matching you on the platform with one mentor from SheSkillz Global. Together with your mentor, you will agree on the timing of your first session (out of four) using the video conferencing tool of your choice. Following each session, you will complete a brief online form called 'session minutes,' thoughtfully provided by us on the platform. The session minutes allow your mentor to offer feedback and serve as a valuable document to guide your subsequent sessions. Fiona Dewey, a Brit living in the Netherlands. With a strong technical background spanning over four decades in the international Oil and Gas industry, she has held various technical and leadership roles. More recently, her focus has been on career development of technical experts and leaders, where mentoring plays a large part. She was a co-founder of the WintershallDea women’s network. Coming from a male dominated industry, where she was often the only women in the room, she faced many challenges, which increased the higher she got up the corporate ladder. On reflection, she realised that life would have been easier with a good mentor to confide in and so passionate about empowering other. women, helping them to be their best authentic self and grow as leaders.

Fiona Dewey

Mentoring program - Director
With a background in chemistry and pharmaceuticals. I have a master’s degree from the University of Ljubljana and started my working career in a local pharmacy. I’ve always been fascinated by how complex systems work, whether in the human body or in industries. In the past, I’ve been invited to TV as a healthcare expert, where I connected science with women’s empowerment. I started my second career in recruitment and consulting in 2018, later following the founder of SheSkillz Global from her first company. In autumn 2025, I am happy to bring this curiosity and problem-solving mindset into the Energy Sector Mentoring Program. Outside work, I’m a Slovenian ski touring guide and free climber—driven by focus, resilience, and exploration. SheSkillz Global enables me to collaborate with over 40 nationalities, allowing me to build on my previous experiences and interest in human beings and how we best cooperate across country borders, with a focus on being the best possible team and being happy for our common and individual success. My mottos are: “Life is a lifelong learning process,” and “Dream the dream you dream with open eyes.”

Lena Lavicka serves as the Head of Business Partner People & Culture for the Energy division at OMV. With a background in International Business Administration, Lena is passionate about working with diverse, international teams. She is dedicated to increasing female representation in leadership by empowering women, fostering networking opportunities, and mentoring future leaders.
Lena is known for her calm and positive approach, even in dynamic and challenging environments. She demonstrated her commitment to personal and professional growth by taking an international assignment as a single mother, stepping outside her comfort zone for the benefit of herself and her family. This experience proved invaluable, and Lena now encourages other women to take bold steps in their own careers.

Our Mentoring Program is a dynamic and enriching experience designed for female professionals. It connects mentees with senior mentors eager to share their expertise and knowledge. Our OMV/SheSkillz Global mentoring program is tailored to provide a supportive environment for career-focused discussions, networking opportunities, and personal and professional development for women in the company that matches the requirements for the program.

 

The current OMV/SheSkillz Global mentoring program is closed for registrations. If you would like to become a mentee in general SheSkIllz Global mentoring program then we recommend reading the information letter . If you meet the criteria to become a mentee, you can apply for one of the available places for the next program.

 

Mentoring is voluntary, and mentors are not paid. If you are accepted as a mentee, we kindly ask that you respect your appointments with your mentor.

   

How much time does it take? As a mentee, commit to having at least four (4) sessions with your mentor, each lasting 45-60 minutes. Additionally, there are 3-4 webinars that you must attend each year, and some are optional. Task groups work together on specific topics, deciding when to meet and discuss. It can also be that there will be some in-person meetings.

The World Economic Forum has reported that achieving gender equality will take more than 130 years, and the STEAM sector is no exception. The statistics regarding the number of women in various positions in the energy field are clear.

 

The program is designed to promote gender equality. While focusing on women, we firmly believe in a world where «Talent has no gender». We are dedicated to empowering female professionals in the energy fields by connecting them with opportunities and mentors. As we move toward achieving our program’s vision, “Talent has no gender” we plan to open the program to all genders who share our goal of promoting gender equality in the workplace. Once we have a more gender-balanced leadership in the energy sectors at all levels and positions. Until then, we ask for your understanding as we focus on women. Mentors can represent all genders.


Suggestion: The reason for choosing mentors of all genders is to build an equal network.

The program is free if you are accepted as a mentee by OMV.

Our goal is to create changes in OMV regarding gender equality at all levels of the organisation. To achieve this, we need them to commit to supporting the mentees’ careers, as they represent their profession/organisation/institutions. We all need to “walk the talk.”
Yes, you can. Many of the mentees in SheSkillz Global programs are executives.
