Mentoring Program Overview

For OMV, gender equality is more than nice words in reports. Our mentoring program is one of the activities to close the gender gap, designed to support and guide women in OMV, helping them navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and reach their full potential. In this program, we are focusing on the experienced women in OMV who are new to leadership roles or who are ready to take their career to the next level.In addition to the SheSkillz Global mentors, we would recommend you to find an OMV internal mentor / sponsor that can support you long-term within OMV. To close the gender gap, we need the whole company to stand behind and work together to reach our goals. You can find all information about the OMV internal self managed mentoring here.

The mission behind the program

The ‘broken rung’ is the obstacle, not the glass ceiling.

OMV aims to build on SheSkillz Global’s success and proven concept, making it a game-changer for women in their company. McKinsey report (2023) states that “Women are more ambitious than before the pandemic,” and we are confident this applies to women in OMV as well. Together, we believe in fostering an environment where ambition is nurtured and opportunities for women are expanded. This program is one of the initiatives in OMV, to “step by step,” achieve the goal of 30% women in senior leadership positions.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE MENTORING PROGRAM

Each mentee will participate in at least four mentoring sessions with their assigned mentor(s). The mentees will also attend OMV tailored webinars and gain access to SheSkillz Global’s open webinars. Mentors will also be invited to webinars. Mentees will collaborate with peers on dynamic topics in task groups, culminating in a final presentation delivered to top leaders at OMV and mentors.

Additionally, mentees and mentors will have access to a comprehensive toolbox filled with resources to support their career development and daily work. They will meet inspiring female role models, learn from others' experiences, engage with competent speakers, expand their professional networks, and much more.

Our Mentoring Program is a dynamic and enriching experience designed for female professionals. It connects mentees with senior mentors eager to share their expertise and knowledge. Our OMV/SheSkillz Global mentoring program is tailored to provide a supportive environment for career-focused discussions, networking opportunities, and personal and professional development for women in the company that matches the requirements for the program.

 

The current OMV/SheSkillz Global mentoring program is closed for registrations. If you would like to become a mentee in general SheSkIllz Global mentoring program then we recommend reading the information letter . If you meet the criteria to become a mentee, you can apply for one of the available places for the next program.

 

Mentoring is voluntary, and mentors are not paid. If you are accepted as a mentee, we kindly ask that you respect your appointments with your mentor.

   

How much time does it take? As a mentee, commit to having at least four (4) sessions with your mentor, each lasting 45-60 minutes. Additionally, there are 3-4 webinars that you must attend each year, and some are optional. Task groups work together on specific topics, deciding when to meet and discuss. It can also be that there will be some in-person meetings.

The World Economic Forum has reported that achieving gender equality will take more than 130 years, and the STEAM sector is no exception. The statistics regarding the number of women in various positions in the energy field are clear.

 

The program is designed to promote gender equality. While focusing on women, we firmly believe in a world where «Talent has no gender». We are dedicated to empowering female professionals in the energy fields by connecting them with opportunities and mentors. As we move toward achieving our program’s vision, “Talent has no gender” we plan to open the program to all genders who share our goal of promoting gender equality in the workplace. Once we have a more gender-balanced leadership in the energy sectors at all levels and positions. Until then, we ask for your understanding as we focus on women. Mentors can represent all genders.


Suggestion: The reason for choosing mentors of all genders is to build an equal network.

The program is free if you are accepted as a mentee by OMV.

Our goal is to create changes in OMV regarding gender equality at all levels of the organisation. To achieve this, we need them to commit to supporting the mentees’ careers, as they represent their profession/organisation/institutions. We all need to “walk the talk.”
Yes, you can. Many of the mentees in SheSkillz Global programs are executives.
