Mentor Program
"Leadership has no gender”

Too few women hold leadership roles in sports in Switzerland, and it's time for that to change. Join us in celebrating the strength, resilience, and passion of women in Swiss sports through our mentorship program. Together, Swiss Olympic, sporti{f}, and SheSkillz Global are proud to offer a transformative experience designed to empower professional women in sports at every stage of their careers.

International sport federations need to change their organizations ....

"The international football organizations UEFA and FIFA must focus more on gender equality”, states Karen Espelund, former-Norwegian football official (National and International). “If they don’t change, they’ll end up like dinosaurs at some point, and we all know what happened to them".....

The mission behind the program

The ‘broken rung’ is the obstacle, not the glass ceiling.

We want to build on SheSkillz Global’s success and proven concept to be a game-changer for women in Swiss sports. Motivated by the McKinsey report (2023), which states that “Women are more ambitious than before the pandemic,” we are confident this applies to women in Swiss sports as well. Together, we believe in fostering an environment where ambition is nurtured and opportunities for women are expanded. With this shared commitment, the sports community can work “step by step” toward achieving the goal of 40% women in sports leadership roles.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE MENTORING PROGRAM

Each mentee will participate in at least four mentoring sessions with their assigned mentor(s). Both mentees and mentors will also attend tailored webinars and gain access to SheSkillz Global’s open webinars. Mentees will collaborate with peers on dynamic topics in task groups, leading to a final presentation delivered to top leaders in Swiss sports and distinguished guests.

Additionally, mentees will have access to a comprehensive toolbox filled with resources to support their career development and daily work. They will meet inspiring female role models, learn from others' experiences, engage with competent speakers, expand their professional networks, and much more.

The World Economic Forum has reported that achieving gender equality will take more than 130 years, and Swiss sports are no exception. The statistics regarding the number of women in various positions in Swiss sports are clear.

The program is designed to promote gender equality in the professional sports world. While focusing on women, we firmly believe in a world where «leadership knows no gender» boundaries. We are dedicated to empowering female professionals in Swiss sports by connecting them with opportunities and mentors. As we move toward achieving our program’s vision, “Leadership has no gender,” we plan to open the program to all genders who share our goal of promoting gender equality in the workplace—This once we have a more gender-balanced leadership in Swiss sports at all levels and positions. Until then, we ask for your understanding as we focus on women. The reason for choosing only female mentors for this program is to build a more robust female network; this is also why we have partnered with Sportif, the female network for Women in Sport in Switzerland.

The program is free if you are accepted as a mentee by Swiss Olympics. Swiss Olympics covers the cost.

Our goal is to create changes in Swiss sports regarding gender equality at all levels of the organisation. To achieve this, we need them to commit to supporting the mentees’ careers, as they represent their sport/organisation/institutions. We all need to “walk the talk.”
If you meet all other criteria, have a sports career, and want to work for a sports organisation. Please send an email to Iva@sheskillzglobal.com with your CV and a motivation letter. Based on this, we will discuss your application if there are any open places.
Yes, you can. Many of the mentees in SheSkillz Global programs are executives.

Inform one of us on the Project Management team—Karin, Luana, or Guro—and we will look into it.
